Tracing Philadelphia’s Italian Architectural Heritage

Enjoy a guided walking tour, with Italian Architect Francesco Sgrazzutti,  through centuries of architectural evolution where the  Italian archetype accompanied the evolution of Philadelphia architecture. The tour will focus on a selection of buildings from the great patrimony represented by historic Philadelphia, such as, the First Bank of the United States,  Carpenters’ Hall and the Athenaeum of Philadelphia.  A wine and cheese reception will be held at the office of the Andrea Canepari ,Consulate General of Italy, following the tour.

About Francesco Sgrazzutti

Francesco Sgrazzutti is an OAPPC European Union Registered Architect based in Philadelphia. He received his degree in Architecture from the IUAV, Venice, and also studied at the TU Berlin and at the University of California at Berkeley. He is passionate about positive change to the context we live in, for the benefit not only of the immediate users but of the community as a whole and of future generations.

He is also a co-founder and a board member of PI-Philly (Professionisti Italiani a Philadelphia) a non-profit organization promoting Italian Culture and Networking among professionals in the Philadelphia metropolitan region.
